Week 12: Block 12 Advanced Decreases

This last block is all about lace. The advanced decrease we will learn is a Central Double Decrease (CDD) which works 3 stitches together with no lean. While creating a fern lace design, we will practice our yarn overs, our previous decreases, stress the use and importance of lifelines, and learn this new Central Double Decrease.

We will talk about Block Assembly and possible uses for the blocks other than a 12-block afghan, in anticipation to next week's finishing class.

The Knitting Building Blocks Class is designed to help knitters navigate through major knitting skills, techniques, and principles, while creating 12 individual squares. Each of the 12 patterns focus on developing new skills in a sequential way, building upon the skills of the previous pattern, while giving new knitters more confidence and knowledge. Once the 12 squares are complete, you will learn to join them together to create an heirloom-worthy sampler afghan.

We will meet Sundays from 10:30am-12:30pm from January 6-March 31, 2019

Buy yarn/materials from Calypso In Color and class time will be $25/session. Bring your own materials, and pay $30/class session. Must buy Building Blocks Book by Michelle Hunter ($20).
