  • Here at Calypso In Color we are thrilled to introduce our signature worsted weight yarn.  It is made of 50% Kid Mohair for softness, strength, and silky shine, and 50% Merino Wool for elasticity and superb hand.  100% American grown, shorn, spun, and dyed, we are proud to help our neighbors and countrywo/men keep working at the jobs they know and love.  The animals that produce the fiber are raised on farms that care about good animal and environmental stewardship.  The fiber is carded and spun in a facility in central Pennsylvania.  Then our friends at Green Matters Natural Dye Company hand dye the yarn, using natural dyes to give us our gorgeous color palette.  The dyestuffs are locally grown and foraged when possible. The imported dyes come from fair-trade suppliers.  They even use all of the exhausted dye baths as natural fertilizer, giving back to the land.  Available in solid colors and Ikat-dyed skeins of a full 4 oz each, you are getting about 15% more yarn per skein, compared to the industry standard of 3.5oz skeins.
